If you are currently engaging a digital agency to manage your Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) someone within the business most likely receives a monthly report with data broken down from Google Analytics, which is great, and what you should expect.
However what many organisations are missing without a holistic approach to their marketing is what happens to the data mentioned in that report. Where are your leads going in your business? How are they handled, what happens to the data once it hits someone’s email or a call is received? How are you analyzing that data and ensuring you are in fact receiving the best results? What does success look like?
There are so many opportunities, rather than just that initial touch point of them hitting submit on “contact us” to reach your customers and potential customers if this data is captured and managed correctly.
If you are spending budget on a digital agency, or even managing an Adwords account in-house, be sure to have a clear understanding of the customer journey that those leads coming through those channels need to go on. You can have the most outstanding agency working for you, but without correct data management within your organisation you may not be seeing the results you should be for the budget you are out-laying.
